I entered this role as a Network Operations Technician, and was quickly promoted through the job hierarchy to a Network Operations Manager. In this role I was accountable for the 24x7 operations of the Viasat satellite networks. Key responsibilities included planning network maintenance activates, incident management and incident response coordination, vendor management, management of operations technicians, and creation of operations processes and documentation.My greatest achievements in this role was leading the creation of the operations procedures to bring the Viasat 1 and Viasat 2 satellite networks online, establish monitoring, and create fast feedback loops to ensure early operations issues were quickly triaged, addressed, and followed-up on by engineering teams. I also lead the creation of operations health indicators that improved visibility of customer service related issues, and lead to improving the overall health of the satellite network.
