Kingdom Faith is a large growing Christian Church and teaching/training ministry with a significant heritage. As Operations Manager I was responsible for the overall effective running of the organisation including finance, facilities, conferences and events,people development and general administration. During this time it was great to get back into getting my sleeves rolled up in an operational role and learning fresh challenges to do with running a not for profit organisation and the many financial and organisational challenges they face.

Starting from a Project Manager role to manage the development and installation of a new EPR system into two hospitals in Sussex and two in Shropshire I accepted the role as joint Director of IT with the local acute hospital and the PCT. Through this role I became heavily involved with the development of the National Programme for IT. Eventually the joint post came to an end and I continued with Worthing and Southlands Hospital as Director for Information Management, Technology and Performance.

During this time I worked in a number of consultancy and interim roles which included manufacturing and distribution, retail, marketing and recruitment. This gave me insight into a wide range of organisational types and sizes along with the breadth of issue they can face.

I headed up the team which developed the, then new, Select concept shops in the UK petrol station network. We developed the new look stations, stores and the underpinning franchise management agreement. At the time this was a ground-breaking development recognised as a clear industry leader not only in terms of the retail concept but also the format of the franchise agreement.

Starting as the grocery buyer I progressed to lead the buying and marketing team responsible for all merchandise selection, pricing,store layout and marketing. This was a very valuable time in developing an understanding of small store "convenience" retailing and building on the experience of the US parent.
