Manage all transit operations for Duke University and Duke Medical Center to ensure the safe provision of fixed-route transit services, para-transit services, and charter bus services including, but not limited to enhancing bus routes and schedule assignments for bus operations daily; approve all purchases made by others within Duke Transit Operations. Oversee and manage the Transit Operations Team (bus services, van services, ada services) to include hiring, fmla, termination, overall coordination of daily operations, directing projects and work assignments, conducting performance appraisals, issuing disciplinary actions, resolving grievances, approving leave requests and time sheets, and ensuring the provision of appropriate professional development and training.

Responsible for directing the day-to-day bus route operations and involved with the daily communication and interaction with the bus operators. Coordinates the scheduling, detour and route changes as required. •Supervised a staff of 90 people; consisting of supervisory staff, dispatchers and bus operators.•Managed the road observation program for safety purposes, accident and incident investigations, and workers compensation program.•Co-Chaired the Customer Service Committee.•Co-chaired our Operations Employee Committee which was a communication tool between operators and management, as well as a tool utilized to boost morale.•Managed the performance management program for operators, supervisors and dispatchers, which included evaluating performance, goal setting and training.•Co-Chaired Team meetings for motivation of staff, troubleshooting, training and goal setting.•Co-Managed the hiring process for bus operators, supervisors and dispatchers.
