John is a transactional and regulatory compliance aviation attorney, who currently serves as Senior Director & Aviation Counsel for Wheels Up Experience Inc. (NYSE: UP). John focuses his practice on advising internal clients on matters that fall under the purview of the Federal Aviation Act, FAA Regulations, FAA Aircraft Registry, and International Registry, including matters related to the acquisition, sale, leasing and operation of corporate aircraft.This includes the negotiation of sale and purchase agreements; negotiating escrow agreements; negotiating lease agreements; advising internal clients as to due diligence, aircraft title, aircraft registration, insurance issues, and maintaining a regulatory compliant operating structure.John earned his bachelor’s degree in aviation management from the University of Oklahoma in 2006, working as a flight instructor while completing his undergraduate degree. Prior to attending law school, he served as an assistant chief flight instructor for a private flight school where he coordinated the school’s Federal Aviation Regulations Part 141 training program and oversaw regulatory compliance with respect to the school’s operational aspects. John remains an active certified flight instructor and holds ratings for Airplane Multi and Single Engine Land, Airplane Single Engine Sea, and Instrument Airplane.
