I lead the Dataflows and Customer Excellence teams in the Data Integration (DI) group. Dataflows: In this role, I lead teams delivering new features, enhancements, and maintenance on the Microsoft Fabric Data Factory Dataflows product. This involves:- End to end responsibility for the product and its services.- Managing multiple teams engaged in the development and running of the product.- Setting and achieving product milestones, feature plans, architecture, and design goals and implementation.Customer Excellence: This role involves working across multiple teams to drive a focus on delivering outstanding products that our customers are delighted to use. I volunteer with the TEALS program to provide Computer Science education to high school students in underserved areas. I very strongly believe that everyone, regardless of background, situation, or career aspirations, needs to have an understanding of how computers do what they do. Diverse hiring is still a very real challenge in computer science roles, and a key element of addressing that is making sure everyone has the opportunity to learn about this as part of their education. TEALS delivers that, which is why I volunteer with them.

As SentryOne joined SolarWinds, I worked to ensure a smooth transition for the engineering group to the SolarWinds engineering organization. This included:- participating in technical strategy for integration of the suite of products- evaluating and recommending options for process integration and updates- working with employees to evaluate and identify the right position and fit for them moving forward.

* SentryOne was acquired by SolarWinds in October 2020 *Lead the engineering team for multiple tools and solutions for database professionals. As Chief Technology Officer at SentryOne, my responsibilities included the development and delivery of our on-premises and SaaS solutions, and working our Product Management group to establish roadmaps, capabilities, and desired outcomes. I also work with the engineering teams to efficiently deliver the product capabilities as specified by our Product department. The engineering department was over 65 people at its peak. - Participated in preparation for seeking investment and initial discussions with potential investors. - Responsible for the technical due diligence response during the SolarWinds acquisition, which went smoothly and was a major factor in the successful acquisition process.- Drove multiple process improvements, including updates to branching strategies, testing approaches, DevOps, and security processes for open source and software vulnerabilities. - Oversaw the evolution of our solutions to SaaS technologies. This included modernization of the technical stack and adoption of new architectural approaches. It also included responsibility for our Site Reliability group, and operational responsibility for the SaaS infrastructure management.- Worked with other members of the executive team to establish strategic direction for our products and technology, as well as broader business goals and initiatives for the company. - Participate in the technical evaluation and diligence around potential mergers and acquisitions as part of our business and technical strategy.

*Pragmatic Works Software was acquired by SentryOne in April 2018.*As President of Pragmatic Works Software, I was responsible for many aspects of the business. I led the architecture, design, and development of the Pragmatic Works software products, with direct responsibility for the development and support teams. This included defining product strategy, product management, development practices, and support procedures. In addition, I worked closely with sales and marketing on messaging and direction. I acted as a resource for technical validation of marketing messages, as well as approving the overall messaging. I worked closely with sales on selling initiatives, pricing, and customer response. I also assisted with sales queries on technical aspects of the products. I had P&L responsibility for the Software line of business, with responsibility for ensuring that our resourcing and expenses were aligned with revenue, both for budgeting and actual expenditures.

As BI Architect, I was responsible for both the technical architecture and the design of Varigence software products, including Business Intelligence Markup Language (BIML). I provided deep insight into real world use cases for the software, and guided the strategic direction of the products. I also participated in the coding and testing of various parts of the product.I was also involved in the sales, marketing, and implementation efforts for the products. This included assisting customers in implementing their business intelligence frameworks using Varigence products.

As Chief Architect, I was responsible for evaluating new technology and setting the technical direction of the organization. I participated in pre-sales consultations and architected business intelligence solutions to meet the business needs of Mariner’s clients. I developed and implemented both technical and process frameworks to ensure consistent delivery of high quality client projects. I was also responsible for operational aspects of the business, including achieving targeted levels of billable utilization for consulting staff, and maximizing benefits from non-billable time. As part of this, I was responsible for ensuring that consultants were trained on the tools and technologies in use on client projects.Over the course of my employment at Mariner, I was involved in client projects in a large number of industries, including financial, insurance, healthcare, energy, manufacturing, and education. I was also primarily responsible for technical infrastructure within the organization, including servers, networks, and other equipment assets. Early in my employment, this involved a high degree of hands-on work in administering these systems. In later years, this transitioned to managing a number of vendors who provided these services to Mariner.

I was responsible for custom application development for multiple different client solutions, primarily around line of business applications for automating business processes. My activities included interacting with customers to gather requirements, design software solutions to meet the requirements, and then developing, implementing, and testing those solutions. In addition, I led other developers in these activities. I was also responsible for network infrastructure and maintenance for the local office.

I delivered custom application development for multiple clients for managing telephone billing and maintenance software. My responsibilities were to gather requirements from customers and then design, develop, implement, and test those solutions.
