I served as a liaison between the AANA Foundation and the Duke University Nurse Anesthesia Program, informing students about AANA Foundation events and opportunities including scholarships, student spotlights, and research opportunities. In addition, I served on the AANA Foundation Student Task Force, collaborating with the Board of Trustees on key issues that impact nurse anesthesia students on a national level. Finally, I partnered with North Carolina's AANA Foundation State Advocate on programs and initiatives supporting CRNAs across the state.

I provided care to adult patients in the Cardiac ICU with a variety of pathologies, including myocardial infarctions, cardiomyopathy, electrophysiological abnormalities, decompensated heart failure, and cardiogenic shock. I manage therapies including intra-aortic balloon pumps, vasoactive drips, ventilators, transvenous pacemakers, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, continuous veno-venous hemodialysis, impella devices, and post-cardiac arrest therapeutic hypothermia. I served on the CCU Clinical Practice Committee, and was a member of an interdisciplinary team working together to develop and publish a hospital-wide protocol for therapeutic hypothermia in allignment with the latest evidence-based practice.
