Adams Institute (MAI), the Pisgah National Forest will sponsor a VetsWork AmeriCorps Intern (with volunteer and partner organizations) across the district and helping to build new trails in the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area, Mortimer area of Wilson Creek, and Old Fort. The Intern will maintain and improve recreation sites.

This concentration focuses on developing students with a strong ministry mind-set and prepares them to utilize the outdoor environment for evangelism and discipleship. This concentration is particularly suited to students who have a heart for ministry and see themselves providing life-shaping experiences at summer camps, Young Life camps, church retreats.

Colorado Springs, Colorado Area

Two-year AAS degree includes a variety of certification classes, hands-on learning opportunities and a diverse elective list allowing students to enhance outdoor skills in their specific area of interest. Training emphases include outdoor leadership, field studies, group dynamics, risk management, web design, wilderness skills, and low-impact techniques.

Fort Carson, Colorado

• Compiled and reviewed evidence for Inspection General investigations in support of authoring final investigative reports and filing with the Department of the Army database to evaluate and eliminate employee grievances.
• Performed inspections of residential facilities to ensure sanitation, sound structure, and habitant compliance with federal regulations; identified systematic issues and reconciled concerns across the installation
• Interfaced with corporate leaders during large – scale meetings and provided principal guidance to 1K newly assigned personnel on department directives, initiatives, and objectives
• Fostered a climate of professionalism through direct and daily reinforcement of Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment Response and Prevention training
• Provided principal guidance to 20 personnel, while sustaining control of nearly $3M in government property and equipment; ensured zero loss or damage as a result of orientation safety training programs and inventory.

Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington

• Oversaw an operations center for Joint operations with Japan, Australia, and South Korea to synchronize foreign engagement tactics with national security for the U.S.
• Assisted in the creation of standard operating procedures, which outlined inception, sustainment, and completion phases of specialized Field Artillery certifications on navigation and direction systems
• Observed and facilitated 2 fire navigation and direction facilities during annual audit periods to increase operational readiness to 100% in volatile and constantly changing environments
• Served as a first responder during life – threatening and casualty emergencies to provide comprehensive resources, support, and benefits to kinship members
• Managed $3M in sensitive equipment and property and eliminated loss, theft, and damage due to initiating a comprehensive storage and inventory program
• Led an Augmentation Security Force team through training simulations and collaborated with emergency services to devise a 2 – hour ready response window

Fort Stewart, Georgia

• Served as a contracting officer representative and operations center supervisor during overseas operations in Mosul to track and sustain fulfillment needs.
• Trained staff members on medical evacuation procedures, which resulted in the expeditious evacuation of 16 emergencies and increased the rapid response of care for 20 foreign security members
• Managed the relocation of $5M in government property over a 1 – year period to 3 separate facilities in Afghanistan; established a 100% full return of equipment rating upon reintegration to domestic stations
• Spearheaded the department retention program and established a 200% increase in the total number of contract renewals as compared to the previous quarter
• Monitored government contractors and Afghanistan Army Security Forces members to ensure fulfillment with previously established contracts and agreements

Cape Girardeau, Missouri

• Hand selected by corporate leadership to represent the Recruitment and Retention Program as an ambassador within the community to initiate engagement, oversee recruitment, and evaluate applicant eligibility standards.
• Sustained a network of influencers and partners to include educators and community officials across 22 high schools and 4 universities, supporting recruitment efforts amongst a local populace of 360K
• Recruited 83 new personnel and designed an attitude program to reach a 114% assignment completion rate for the Fiscal Year
