(Starboard Software Consulting)After Zappos was acquired by Amazon as a subsidiary, I was brought onboard to integrate its shipping and warehouse management system with those of Amazon in 2010. Amazon endpoints used included the SubsidiaryWebServices portal (SWS) - an endpoint exposed exclusively for subsidiaries - as well as its Marketplace Web Services (MWS) API. I’ve also done extensive work building out the SWS Portal for Zappos’s use which is also sharable with other subsidiaries, and most recently made forays into the AWS space. For several years, I took over leading the team of individuals who supported over 30 systems that were critical in keeping Zappos operating, and I’ve established many relationships of mutual trust and respect across the business. This was a fine opportunity to work with a cutting edge group using the latest software technology with extensive use of Java Annotations, Guice for dependency injection, Hibernate, and the Wicket web UI framework. Work consisted of converting older systems based on other technologies such as STRUTS and JDBC to the latest in Wicket and Hibernate. Extensive testing using Junit. (Tek Systems Consultant)Designed and developed a Single Sign-On web application which allowed users from multiple environments to enter an order entry system for printed materials without being required to log in again. The "shopping cart" site was owned and managed by an ASP provider which published a Web Service via WSDL for which a corresponding Web Service Client was generated. Communication to the SSO Web Service was via https, while communication to the ASP provider was done through SOAP.
