I was responsible for Detection Engineering/Signature Pipeline. This involved: Scraping the Internet for malware samples, prioritization of which malware signatures needed to be created, custom tools to ensure that signatures were optimized, QA of signatures, and custom ticket creation for new threats.

I work with customers on a wide variety of projects. Projects include custom audit work, 3rd party software integrations, and custom scanner or passive scanner (NNM) code.

I work in Research and Development on the Tenable Nessus Network Monitor (NNM). I am most interested in anomaly detection within protocols or system usage. I'm a network voyeur and love to look for patterns in the way that people use or abuse a network.

As a volunteer, I was responsible for: configuring and managing Cisco Pix and Sonicwall firewalls and VPNconfiguring and managing F5 load-balancerensuring PCI compliance by implementing encryption, network segmentation, and moreconfiguring and managing the Tenable Passive Vulnerability Scanner (PVS)configuring and managing the IDS systemsmonthly scanning of network (Tenable Nessus scanner)incident responseconfiguring and managing the desktop, personal encryption softwaretroubleshooting any network connectivity issues

Having worked with Professor Mattord at Georgia-Pacific, I was asked to help develop a curriculum for KSU information security students. I did this on a part-time basis for close to a year. The position included teaching classes on ethical pen-testing, war-dialing, and other security-related topics. I also worked with KSU on setting up a vulnerability scanning solution and passive vulnerability scanner for their enterprise.

As a technical lead, I was responsible for managing both personnel and projects. I was responsible for penetration testing, new product evaluation, Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewall audits, Source code analysis, Incident response, Forensic investigations, wireless audits, and much more for a (at the time) Fortune 75 company. As a member of a group which reported to Corporate Security, I completed physical security site audits at G-P mills in North and South America.

I primarily worked as a Sun/Solaris system administrator for Dekalb County Schools. I helped to build out the Atlanta office and supported a number of network engineering projects.
