He is an advisor to CEOs of several startup companies. From 2003 to 2009, he worked at Lightspeed Venture Partner where he was a CEO advisor to Virsa Systems that was sold to SAP in 2006 for $400 million and a member of the Board of Star Analytics that was sold to IBM in 2013.Prior to Lightspeed, Luongo was CEO of The Vantive Corporation, a leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software provider. Joining in 1993, he took the company from $0.5M to more than $160M, including several rounds of financing and an IPO in 1995. He created a strategic partnership between Vantive and PeopleSoft that led to the company’s acquisition by PeopleSoft in 1999 for $540 million.Luongo was Oracle Corporation’s 26th employee and founder of its International Division. From 1982-1990, as Senior VP, International he expanded Oracle’s global business into 92 countries with 33 wholly owned subsidiaries, 3,400 employees and $452M representing 49% of total revenues. Luongo served on the Board of Samaritan House in San Mateo from 1991-1995. In 2001, he was a technology advisor to the Democratic National Committee. From 2001 to 2007, he was on the Board of Planned Parenthood Golden Gate. He is a member of the Board of Campaign for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).In 1971, Luongo received a BA magna cum laude in East Asian History from Lehman College (CUNY) receiving membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta. He has done graduate work in History at Princeton University; Statistics at Bernard Baruch; Physics at San Francisco State. In 2012, he graduated from Harvard University with a Masters of Liberal Arts (ALM) in Sustainability and Environmental Management (Dean's List, School of Extension). Show less
