Computers exist to help people. They can inform us, entertain us, organize us, make work easier, enhance our social interactions, and even provide communication ability for people with disabilities. I’m interested in all aspects of people-centered computing. My focus has been investigating user interface technologies that enable people with profound disabilities to communicate and participate socially in the world around them through computers.I teach a variety of Computer Science courses, including introductory sequence courses for CS majors, survey courses for non-majors, and high level courses such Networks, Software Engineering, and Computer Vision and Human-Computer Interaction.I am also interested a variety of public policy issues including education, energy, transportation, health, public safety, and social justice.Specialties: Human-Computer Interaction, Accessible Computing, Assistive Technology, Teaching, Academic Research, Computer Programming, Computer Vision.
