John McCloskey is a Director of Ethics and Complex Investigations for Manulife Financial & John Hancock’s Global Investigative & Forensic Services Department. Since joining the Company in 2005, John has specialized in financial fraud investigations and digital forensic examinations. John has worked in fraud detection and prevention, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance for most of his career in organizations such as the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, New England Mutual Life Insurance Company, Fidelity Investments, and the Massachusetts Office of Bar Counsel / Board of Bar Overseers. He has received specialized training through the Department of Justice - National White Collar Crime Center, AccessData, and Guidance Software. He has earned the Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Forensic Investigator, and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist designations. He is a member of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association and the Canadian Association of Certified Forensic Investigators and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Boston Chapter of Certified Fraud Examiners. He also attended The Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation as well as the Advanced Reid Technique Program.John has custom-built forensic computers and designed forensic labs using best practice methodology. He has experience in e-Discovery and cyber-threat analysis.John is a graduate of Providence College with a bachelors degree in Economics. He also received a post-graduate certificate in Accounting from Bridgewater State College.
