John has been working in architecture since graduating from RISD in 1980. He has worked at renowned firms including The Stubbins Associates and Perkins+Will, as an associate and a principal respectively. In between, John was principal and owner of Fuller Associates, Inc., an award winning design firm in Boston. John founded Mitchell Fuller, LLC in 2010 and has recently merged his practice with his wife Mary Rentschler's firm, Rentschler & Company Interiors, to form LakeStreetStudio in Vineyard Haven on Martha's Vineyard.John has worked on numerous commercial office buildings and corporate interiors in the metro Boston area, and has worked on residential projects throughout New England. Recently, John provided drawings for the restoration and interpretive redevelopment of the spaces below decks on the historic Schooner Adventure, including the Captain's Cabin, The Fo'c'sle and the proposed transformation of the Hold into a multi-purpose Learning Center.Having worked in the building trades before studying architecture, Mr. Fuller has always enjoyed a constructive working relationship with the construction teams building his projects- minimizing delays and keeping projects tracking for success.Mr. Fuller moved to Martha's Vineyard in June 2015, where he has visited since the mid 1960's, and established a studio on Vineyard Haven's inner harbor. Recently married to Mary Rentschler of Rentschler & Company Interiors, John and Mary will pursue projects together as LakeStreetStudio both on and off island. Our four children are thriving on the Vineyard and around Boston.
