• Designed and implemented new dual 6500 LAN core that connected multiple floors of 200+ users in the corporate headquarters. Based on the collapsed core design, the new core provided increased performance and reliability. OSPF was the primary routing protocol.• Designed and implemented new datacenter core based on Cisco model 3560 switches. New core resulted in increased performance, reliability, and scalability. OSPF was the primary routing protocol.• Maintained WAN that connected approximately 2,800 branch centers most of which connected to the datacenter either directly via site-to-site VPN over the Internet or via wholesale DSL. • Led project to reduce the number of physical servers in order to save space and expenses while increasing reliability and maintainability using server virtualization. Replaced approximately 50 stand-alone Linux VOIP and other network support servers (DNS, TFTP, FTP, TACACS, syslog, Nagios, etc.) with six VMware servers. Project resulted in an overall savings in cost and space while increasing reliability, performance, and deployment speed.• Also supported servers providing: DNS, tftp, ftp, Cisco ACS (RADIUS and TACACS), Internet proxy server, syslog, and network management (Nagios and Orion). Majority of servers ran on Linux OS (Red Hat, CentOS, Fedora, Debian or Ubuntu) while the remaining ran on Windows 2000/2003 Server.

Part of the campus was being incorporated into a new company. • A major portion of the project was designing and implementing PIX firewall solutions for access between the old and new networks for the duration of the migration.
