Johnny was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the College of Health in the Kinesiology program at the University of Utah as a person of color, first-generation, transfer & and non-traditional student taking five years to earn a Bachelor of Science degree. He has been working at the University of Utah as a work-study student for three years. He has been a part of the ACES Scholars’ program, and Bennion Scholars’ program, and became president of his student organization during his undergraduate from 2018 to 2021.
