I have had the great privilege of working in the charitable sector in Ottawa since 1991. During that time, I have managed all facets of fundraising, with a particular focus on personal philanthropy, major gifts and campaigns involving senior volunteers.I am currently the Executive Director, Strategic Philanthropy at my alma mater, the University of Ottawa. I began my career with United Way/Centraide Ottawa in 1991. From 1994 to 2005, I returned to my alma mater, the University of Ottawa, and held several increasingly senior positions, including the Campaign Director of the successful $200 million Campaign for Canada’s University. When my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I left the university to join the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation in 2005. There, I directed the Courage Campaign which surpassed its $20 million goal in 2008 and in 2014 we successfully completed Phase II of that campaign, surpassing $50 million. After a very fulfilling 14 years, I returned to uOttawa in late 2019 to take on new challenges and opportunities. I received my Certified Fundraising Executive designation in 1999. I was an active Big Brother for 8 years, including a board member.
