I am an incredibly fortunate attorney and counselor who (most of the time) loves what I get to do everyday. I get to live vicariously and intensely alongside my clients, each of whom seeks success by innovating and improve their product and service offerings for their customers. When I left law school, my principal goal was to find an area of practice that would challenge and excite me. I found that learning all I could about my clients, helping companies find the capital they need to grow their businesses, find other companies to buy, become successful, and then perhaps sell that business brought me in everyday ready to go. (1) Paul Hirschbiel and I envisioned and founded 757 Angels, the third largest Angel Network in the country, its members having invested over $110 million in growth stage companies since we founded it in 2015; (2) Shannon Kane and I envisioned and founded the Junior Achievement Hampton Roads Business Hall of Fame in 2005 to honor role models for the business minded students in the 757 to respect and possibly emulate; (3) CJ Spady, I and a few others have founded the local network for the Association of Corporate Growth, we call ACG 757 as the step between the entrepreneurs served by 757 Angels and those Mt. Rushmore types in the JA Hampton Roads Business Hall of Fame and (4) Innovate Hampton Roads led by a stellar Board.I've been married to the best and smartest person I know for 37 years and coached my three boys and their friends in sports and in life for 30 years. Sure, I market (I'm here right?) but 95% of my work comes through referrals.
