Firefighting is more than just a job to me. I constantly seek ways to improve myself through training classes, volunteering with the water rescue team, and taking on part-time jobs to develop additional abilities. Simply put, this is the career I love, and I can’t picture doing anything else.CAREER HIGHLIGHTSI was promoted to HazMat Team Manager in March of 2016 for MO Task Force 1.I achieved my paramedic's license in August of 2015.In May of 2014 myself and several other firefighters and emergency medical personnel received the Great Save Award from Research Medical Center in Kansas City. The award was given for our work as a team in saving the life of a victim of a severe car crash. In September of 2013 I was deployed to Colorado for one week with Missouri Task Force 1 to assist in search, rescue, and recovery operations following massive flooding. I have enjoyed recent opportunities to serve as acting Captain on my shift and supervise training for new hires, further developing my leadership skills and abilities.CAREER GOALSIn the near future I will be pursuing a master's degree in occupational safety management through the University of Central Missouri.
