• Responsible for regulatory compliance for qualified retirement plans. This included implementing changes to state and federal rules and regulations across Thrivent’s member retirement plans• Review and support for the internal controls over retirement plan financial transactions• Working with field agents to prevent and resolve problems related to retirement plans• Implementing policies and procedures related to retirement plan money movements including project support, forms and requirements design• Supporting tax reporting including information for 5500s and PS 58s• Project support including writing requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and positive customer experience• Training for new and existing staff on retirement plans and moving money within and between retirement plans

In my role as director of sales planning and reporting for a fortune 500 company, I designed and lead the sales planning retreat for senior vice presidents from both the corporate and sales sides of the organization. I used forecasting tools to anticipate sales momentum and business intelligence tools to anticipate future environmental and market influences on the sales forecasts. I lead a sales planning process that successfully integrated sales and financial budget goals and targets. My sales forecasts were consistently within 1% of actual for a three year period. I also combined capacity planning for sales agents with historical sales levels to forecast future sales for various categories of sales agents.

Responsible for planning and conducting financial audits, program evaluations and IT audits of large state agencies and programs. Auditor in charge responsibilities included developing audit programs to include coverage of applicable rules and regulations, supervising and evaluating audit staff, writing and editing audit reports and presenting audit reports to legislative audit committees. Additional projects included: extensive internal control reviews, presenting staff training courses for new and existing staff, developing computer programs, spreadsheets and statistical applications for personal and mainframe computers and assisting in the development of a new audit manual.
