Responds to emergencies as part of four-person crew. Duties include fire suppression, rescue, public education, fire prevention and medical response to the citizens of Guilford County, NC.

I serve the community as volunteer fire service officer during emergency and routine incidents. I am involved in firefighter safety and health programs, volunteer member recruitment, training, incident management and other related functions.

Performed duties as emergency services trainer in conjunction with other job duties involving medical response, hazardous materials incidents, fire extinguishment and fire protection systems inspections. Received intensive training to perform duties as a Fire and Safety Supervisor in a large manufacturing facility. Developed and delivered classes to members of an industrial emergency services/security team to include topics such as incident management, hazardous materials, incipient fire extinguishment and medical first responder.

I performed significant research involving life safety and fire prevention issues used by clients of a multi-state Worker Compensation insurance company. I developed a sample Emergency Action Plan to be used by different organizations and private businesses that met the requirement of OSHA regulations.

Performed duties as an Infantry Squad Leader at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and other world-wide locations to include Germany and Iraq. Conducted additional duties related to small-unit training, substance abuse education and prevention, field sanitation, and leadership training.
