Senior Manager, Us Fae Team

Current

Austin, Texas, United States

Mar 2024 - Present

Senior Staff Field Applications Engineer

Austin, Texas Area

* 2012 - 2015 - FAE specializing in Implementation SupportFollowing on from my experience in the Semiconductor field, my main role at Dolby was supporting Implementation customers i.e. DSP/SoC OEMs, with the implementation of key decoders at Dolby including Dolby Headphone, Dolby Digital Plus and TrueHD. My timing in joining Dolby was great as we had just launched Dolby Atmos in the cinema (first movie was Disney's Brave) and I was involved in bringing Atmos to the home.* 2015 - 2020My role at Dolby evolved to include supporting more strategic customers including Microsoft, Dell, HP, Lenovo and others. I was heavily involved with the launch of Atmos into the home, from the DSP/SoC Implementation side right through to the consumer playback side in various AV Receivers and Soundbars in the home. This involved everything from advising customers on how to implement the Atmos algorithms themselves to setting up Atmos demos to customers throughout the USA and talking them through the benefits of Atmos to the Home Cinema environment. I was lucky enough to be involved with the first Atmos gaming launch which was on the Xbox One X in 2017 (in LA) as well as it's international debut at GamesCom in Cologne (later in 2017) where I set up a full 7.1.4 Atmos AVR system.* 2020 +My last few years at Dolby has saw my focus shift again, this time to the automotive world, as we are now launch Dolby Atmos into cars via our DCX (Dolby Car eXperience) program. I was involved in the set-up of our first DCX demo cars in the USA and traveled throughout the country demoing this exciting technology to key customers and partners including Bose, Harman, Panasonic and many other car OEMs. I assisted our first DCX customer(Lucid) with their product launch and am deeply involved with the training of our largest DCX customer so far (Mercedes). I look forward to this year and beyond when many more DCX customers will add their names to the growing list of 13+ car OEMs worldwide!
