The guidance provides DoD, federal, industry, and foreign military partners with the technical direction that the Army is heading and will affect the investment strategies of the US Army and these organizations.- Led the a division of data architects to publish the first-ever Army Data Strategy and officially establish the Army Data Management Program and its objectives. - Represented the CIO/G-6 as a panelist at the 2014 AFCEA MILCOM conference. Communicated the Army’s new strategy and processes in the area of technical standards and compliance certification. Interacted in multiple sessions with foreign military, US military, and Industry partners on the significance of the new strategy.- Oversaw and coordinated the development of the enterprise architecture validation process strategy. The validation process will allow the Army to validate architectural compliance of technical solutions and make informed decisions on program resourcing.
Chief, Engineering & Implementation Branch
- Led AFRICOM's digital transformation to the Joint Enterprise Network (JEN), an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) construct, similar to the Army Data Center Consolidation Program (ADCCP) and Common Operating Environment (COE)/Joint Information Environment (JIE). Oversaw and led the AFRICOM effort to be the first organization in the Department of Defense (DoD) to implement a consolidated, robust, survivable IT enterprise that allowed for seamless data integration and collaboration between multiple entities and domains. Examples of IT investments programmed and deployed were virtual server infrastructure, virtual storage infrastructure, Unified Capabilities (UC), security boundary suites, secure remote access solutions, mobile solutions, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), Wireless Intrusion Detection Systems (WIDS), messaging, Identity and Access Management (IdAM), data security management (rights management, data at rest encryption), and IT transport (Campus, metro, and wide area networks supporting Multiprotocol label switching, virtual route forwarding, dense wave division multiplexing, and quality of service). Oversaw the establishment of the Command’s systems engineering process and services catalogue.- Supervised and led the Engineering and Implementation branch of the AFRICOM J-6. Oversaw team of government and contractor engineers and solution architects in support of multiple engineering efforts. Define and issue project priorities for all teammates within the engineering team. - Managed cost, schedule and performance parameters for multiple projects and identify risk sources and their potential impact to projects. Identify, evaluate, recommend, and brief courses of action to mitigate risk factors to senior leaders. -Contracting Officer Representative (COR) on multiple IT delivery orders for multiple technology sets.
