Shonté Johnson, MSW, ACSW was born and raised in Northern California. In 2017, she earned a Baccalaureate degree in Social Welfare from The University of California Berkeley and a Public Policy minor from The Goldman School of Public Policy. She graduated with distinction, departmental, and academic honors. In 2019, she earned her Master of Social Welfare with a concentration in Social and Economic Justice and a Human Services Management certificate from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. That same year she founded Beauty Divine Artistry, a 5-star reviewed Alternative and Holistic health practice where she serves as a multidisciplinary wellness practitioner offering Reiki, Sound and Crystal therapy, and Emotional Freedom Technique, known as EFT tapping. Always advancing in practice, she became certified as a 200 hour Mindful Hatha Yoga and Meditation Teacher with The Tree Yoga Cooperative and Unplug Meditation respectively. Her meditation series is featured on the Unplug meditation app Best You 2022 (31-day) meditation challenge. Ms. Johnson has a strong background in working with leading nonprofit organizations to combat homelessness, such as Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) in Berkeley, CA and Safe Parking LA. She has a demonstrated history in public service working alongside Congresswoman Barbara Lee in the 13th district Oakland office and Los Angeles City Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office of City Homeless Initiatives as a David Bohnett Mayoral Public Service Fellow. She is a published researcher with the University of California Berkeley and a keynote speaker on college panels speaking on topics such as single parenthood, teenage pregnancy, and higher education.
