Directed activities of the Biomedical Engineering department in the selection, procurement, and distribution of medical equipment and services. Reported to various hospital committees such as Environment of Care, life safety, capital planning, and project management. Collaborated with executive leadership on short term and long-range business needs, clinical demands and regulatory requirements. Developed and implemented department strategic goals, objectives and policies that are consistent with, and support the organization's strategic plan. Developed and managed the operating budget for the Biomedical Engineering Department ensuring cost effective management of staff, supplies and contracts. Participated in TJC and CMS accreditation inspections and survey processes. Directed the day-to-day activities of an in-house Biomed team, providing multi-modality support, and general Biomed support for two different hospital systems, including off-site locations. Implemented medical device cybersecurity plans for multiple accounts.
