Living in a patriarchal society has created the myth of the self-made man: stoic, self-sufficient, individualistic, all-knowing, physically dominant. However, no man fits that unattainable mold. It’s a harmful narrative that leads to high rates of depression and suicide for men around the globe.There is a lack of strong communities of men who can express vulnerability. Authentic vulnerability is asking for guidance, support, giving and receiving affirmation, and challenging one another to be better. Global society socializes young boys to suppress their emotions and natural bodily responses to the world, such as crying, which is an essential part of the human experience. This results in generations of men who feel isolated and unloved, are starved for interpersonal connection, lack the ability to regulate their emotions, and don’t know what to do about it. We are a company of men who understand that the way out is in, brotherhood is the medicine, and that you need a strong community of brothers to support your growth and healing. We are here to provide a space, both virtual and physical, for men to learn, heal, grow, and hold one another accountable to becoming the best men we can be. The goal is to create a movement where empowered, healthy men can show up as better partners, fathers, sons, community-members, and leaders.

I work on the Consulting team to help Drift's clients optimize their utilization of Drift's Conversation Cloud. This includes building customized AI bots and playbooks to increase conversation and engagement rates from website visitors, and streamlines the process of routing sales reps into conversations with prospects; the ultimate goal is always to drive more qualified leads through the pipeline and accelerate revenue generation. Formerly PeerMetrix, LLC, owned and operated by Cornerstone Advisors built the Performance Vault SaaS platform for banks and credit unions to digitize and measure performance institution-wide. We were a lean startup team doing a little bit of everything all at once. - Provided Willow Domestic Violence Center's shelter residents with counseling services and support during the COVID-19 crisis, which has reportedly increased the severity and frequency of domestic violence around the world (see TIME Magazine and the NYT). - Maintained safety and security of survivors in the residential shelter.- Safety planned with and emotionally supported shelter residents and their children. - Operated Willow's 24/7 DV Hotline, helping clients in crisis and concerned family and friends. - Collaborate with stakeholders at other nonprofits to refer clients to their services and community resources- Assisted clients with DHS, employment, and social service benefits applicationsWillow Center’s 24/7 Crisis and Support Hotline is a resource for victims of domestic violence, concerned friends and family, and professionals, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. - Supported the Mobile Services and Initiatives Team in providing trauma-informed care and resources to DV survivors in the community. - Developed community partner distribution list for collaboration with other organizations in the Greater Rochester Area to better serve DV survivors. - Utilized Apricot software and Excel to collect and compile anonymous demographic data on Willow clients to better understand community needs and potential service gaps. - Worked at the Court Advocacy Program in the Monroe County Hall of Justice. Provided direct service to assist survivors with legal proceedings related to Domestic Violence and Family court, and advocated for them within the justice system. - Performed safety planning, provided emotional support, and used solution-focused counseling methodology with clients. - Trained to support hotline counselors, and operate the 24/7 DV hotline.

- Assisted AFPC senior fellows in researching various issues relating to Sino-American relations, security in the Asia-Pacific, and the political and economic obstacles facing the region.- Researched and compiled the 334-page AFPC China Briefing Book for AFPC-led governmental delegation to several Chinese provinces in August of 2019, authored key summaries and briefing on Heilongjiang province. - Staffed front desk to represent the face of the organization to visitors, such as media representatives, legislators, and foreign dignitaries who had appointments with AFPC fellows.

"The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is an intensive overseas language and cultural immersion program for American students enrolled at U.S. colleges and universities. Students spend eight to ten weeks abroad studying one of 15 critical languages. The program includes intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences designed to promote rapid language gains.CLS, a program of the U.S. Department of State, is part of a wider government initiative to expand the number of Americans studying and mastering foreign languages that are critical to national security and economic prosperity. CLS plays an important role in preparing students for the 21st century's globalized workforce and increasing national competitiveness."

I was employed by Oberlin College for the WAVE (Words Are Very Empowering) program as a tutor for a class of rising 3rd grade students for the summer in the subjects of mathematics, natural sciences, reading, and writing. WAVE is an Oberlin College community involvement program aimed at providing academic aid to struggling local students over the summer. This was one of the most rewarding jobs and experiences I have ever had, as I was able to make a positive impact on the intellectual growth of younger students in my community.
