I am Director of the Digital Library Applications department, one of the five units comprising Library Information Technology (LIT) at the University of Michigan. Prior to this, I was head of the Digital Library Production Service (DLPS) for 8 years. From mid-2015 through July 2016 I filled in as the interim Head of the User Experience Department. During this time we combined UX with Web Systems to form the the new Design & Discovery unit and started a search for its manager.In the mix with the above, I was Associate Director of Library Information Technology for almost three years starting in 2016 and ending in 2018.I previously handled image database content for DLPS and developed the Image Class component of DLXS, which is a position I held from 1998 to 2009. In this role, I established hosting services for the library and campus, amassing approximately 100 databases and over 300,000 digital images representing prominent collections from the Bentley Historical Library, the Special Collections Library, and the Museum of Art, among others. I also supported several other institutions in their use of Image Class.
