John has over two decades of experience incorporating smart growth principles into a multitude of project types. His education in Landscape Architecture was completed at Kansas State University.He has a strong passion for urban redevelopment and has molded his company, Urban Landscapes, into the go-to firm for infill development and entitlement solutions in the Colorado Springs region. The company is finely tailored, boutique firm where every project is meaningful to the community where he has raised his family of five with his wife, Theresa.This passion has lead John to joining multiple boards of directors in the community. The list of boards has to begin with some that John served as a founding board member, including Colorado Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism, Colorado Springs Urban Intervention, the Colorado Springs Downtown Review Board and We Fortify - the recent recipient of the 2023 ULI Colorado Impact Chair's Award for Working Fusion at Mill Street!John, an Accredited New Urbanist, Registered Landscape Architect and LEED Accredited Professional, today is a long-standing board member and current Chair of the Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority, Co-Chair of ULI Southern Colorado, the Chair of We Fortify, along with other HOA and Metro District Boards for the Gold Hill Mesa Community.
