As a Delivery Office Manager, I am responsible for the smooth and productive running of a Royal Mail depot. I am the link between the postmen and women, and Royal Mail. I am responsible for leading, managing and motivating my team to a high standard and helping them achieve our quality, financial and customer targets and objectives. I am also responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety, Asset Management and Fleet Management. I forecast, agree, and then achieve end of year budgetary targets. Being reactive to customer issues and proactive in promoting customer service opportunities is another important part of my job. Being proactive and positive to the challenges of todays business world is important as business needs to evolve at a very quick pace to stay ahead.I have managed and implemented two phases of major change within my office over the past 10 years, which required exceptional negotiating and influencing skills. I possess good analytical and numerical skills which I have found essential when forecasting and setting my budgets and I am trained in all forms of Interview Techniques, conduct and attendance. I undertake all recruitment interviews and am committed to equality of opportunity. I am extremely flexible and very driven.

I attended a Management Training scheme with Royal Mail which then qualified me to travel Devon covering Delivery Office Manager’s annual and sick leave, but in bitesize weekly chunks. Each week there would be a different office, with a different set of people, different challenge’s but the same goal. This enabled me to gain valuable experience on how to run a successful delivery office.

As Deputy Manager of the Delivery Office my duties consisted of assisting the Depot Manager in all aspects of running the office. This also included customer facing in the enquiry office which covered everything from a customer collecting a parcel to dealing with any complaints. All aspects of administration were undertaken including duty rotas, office utilities, vehicle maintenance bookings, building maintenance and looking after a small team of postmen. I would also cover for the Office Manager when he was on leave.
