I am a member of the internal web tools team. My responsibilities include creation of new tools and maintenance of existing tools that are used by hard drive developers. Technologies used include PHP, Javascript, jQuery, the Code Igniter PHP framework, CSS, and MySQL databases. One of the main web pages I own is used by development and team leaders to manage the work they have to accomplish. It shows a consolidated view of all work and allows easy transfer of work items from one person to another and from one status to another.

I was a Professional hire after working as a vendor. I started as a Staff Software Engineer and was promoted to Advisory Software Engineer. My first responsibilities included owning or modifying tools used during the AS/400 operating system and Licensed Program Product (LPP) build processes. These tools were written in AS/400 CL, PLMI, and C++.I was the team lead of the Process Control Team (PCT) which was responsible for preserving the build process toolset design integriy and maintaining a standard set of processes for all deliverables. Other responsibilities included analyzing new requirements and recommending/designing solutions, responding to and tracking problems encountered, gathering requirements from a wide range of useres, communicating requirements and designs to developers, and reporting status to several layers of management.I was the team lead for the IBM Systems Director Build Verification Test (BVT) team. I designed and implemented a completely automated BVT process using IBM Rational Build Forge and cloud virtual systems. This process ran on Windows, Linux, and AIX. I designed and implemented an automated process to create cloud images containing pre-loaded virtual machines with the Director product installed for development to use. This collectively saved 7PY of work per year.
