Jon Newcomb retired on April 3, 2020. Previously, he was Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Information Governance Counsel in the Cable Law Department at Comcast Cable Communications, LLC. In that capacity, Jon provided advice and counsel in connection with commercial litigation matters, with particular emphasis on antitrust and competition. Jon also oversaw the company's Information Governance team, which encompasses responsibility for records management and e-discovery issues. Jon began his career in cable with TCI as Great Lakes Division Counsel in August 1993. After joining the cable industry, Jon advised managers and other personnel on a wide variety of operations legal issues, including antitrust/competition, marketing, MDU, easement/ROW access and media services matters. Prior to joining TCI, Jon was a commercial litigator at Kirkland & Ellis (1982 – 1987) and Jones Day (1987 – 1993) in Chicago with an emphasis on antitrust and competition matters. Jon earned his undergraduate (B.A. 1979) and law (J.D. magna cum laude 1982) degrees from Northwestern University.
