I have been an Instrument Technician for the last 11 years. I also worked as an apprentice for 3 years previous to that. I was fortunate to have a mentor who had spent more than 44 years working in this field. The majority of my education has been through hands on training. I feel my troubleshooting skills are excellent and will not give up on resolving an issue until it is fixed the right way. Process Control is a challenging field and instrumentation is a key factor in producing good results. In my position, I am required to take on many responsibilities. Knowing how to calibrate an instrument, program a variable frequency drive, or design and wire a control panel, does no good in the end if you do not know what it is supposed to do. Therefore, an understanding of why and how a process works is fundamental when troubleshooting. Implementing and carrying out a well designed preventative maintenance plan will reduce production downtime. My knowledge of hydraulic systems, PLC, pneumatics, control wiring, motor starters, control cabinet design, electrical systems, and many other has allowed me to excel as a technician.
Listed skills include Mining, Instrumentation, Preventive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, and 41 others.
