Jon B. Silverman, BS, PharmD is currently a Director of Pharmacy for the 340B Drug Pricing Program and Investigational Drug Services at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He received his BS and PharmD Degrees from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences in 1995 and 2002.He has worked at BWH for 27 years holding positions as a Clinical Pharmacist, Inpatient/Drug Safety Supervisor, Investigational Drug Services Supervisor, Operating Room Supervisor and 340B Drug Pricing Program Manager prior to becoming Director of Pharmacy.He has played key and leading roles in the implementation and on-going maintenance of several different smart infusion technology platforms including large volume pumps, PCA/epidural pumps, syringe pumps, and respiratory pumps. He implemented one of the first Medication Safety Officer positions, a Bariatric Surgery Pharmacy Consultation Service within ambulatory and a research pharmacy web-based software system that won an award from MSHP. In addition to the above areas, he also has direct experience with non-sterile compounding, sterile compounding and controlled substances. He is also an ACPE Administrator accrediting pharmacy education programs for continuing education credit for over 20 years.
