I joined the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office in 1996, having worked hard at becoming very well rounded in my experience, as a deputy working in Detentions, Patrol, Investigations and as a sergeant in Detentions, Patrol and Internal Affairs. However, since joining the Bomb Squad in 1999, and then SWAT as a breacher in 2004, I found a passion for the special operations area of law enforcement.In 2000, I became a certified Bomb Technician and have received advanced training in IED electronics, HME, robot operations/maintenance, disposal / destruction techniques as well as x-ray and precision targeting. I am also an advocate for Bomb Squad / SWAT integration having been attached to the SWAT team since 2004 as a tactical explosive/mechanical breacher. I also have been involved in the testing and evaluating of advanced render-safe robot tools through government working groups. I have been a responder to national high profile incidents and have worked and coordinated many high profile dignitary protection details.With all that I’ve experienced throughout my career, I’m now dedicated to building a wellness program within the USBTA.I am also dedicated to the counter-IED field and the advancement of fellow bomb technicians. This passion led me to co-founding the United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA). "If service is below you, leadership is beyond you."
