I joined the US Navy in February of 1986 I finished basic train in San Diego in May I entered the fleet in June where I was assigned and joined the crew of the USS Joseph Strauss in the after boiler room where I began my training in steam generation, propulsion and repair. Being self motivated I quickly learned all facets of the operation phase, excelling to top operator in one years time. I am a combat action veteran earning the following commendations: Combat Action Ribbon, Armed Forces Expedtionary Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Good Conduct Award, and most importantly Honorably discharged in January 1990.
