Coastal Geomorphologist
CurrentUndertake both pure and applied research in coastal geomorphology and oceanography. Interests in coastal hazards, climate change, extreme storms, coastal erosion and flood hazards, and impacts of future sea level rise. Established the Oregon Beach and Shoreline Mapping and Analysis Program (OBSMAP) to begin documenting the seasonal to interannual variability of Oregon's beaches. The latter is accomplished using RTK-DGPS. Developed techniques for tracking gravels (cobble) using RFID technology for the purposes of understanding gravel transport on beaches. Over the past 15 years, I have authored or co-authored over 40 peer reviewed research articles, and more than 50 agency reports.
