Service Desk Team Lead
CurrentPromoted from my previous role. Whilst continuing all of the previous responsibilities, picking up and developing several management type skills has become a key focus of the role as I picked up line management responsibilities of the latest 4 new hires. This includes career progression and planning, coaching, developing training plans and analyzing day to day performance through a data driven approach and holding weekly 1 to 1 meetings with the employees I line manager to help them overcome any blockers and aid them in driving their careers forward.Task delegation has also become more important than in my previous role. I still pick up many technical conversations , but the day to day lower priority tickets (P3 and below) are now left to others. I will provide regular support on those issues to guide others when required on the steps needed to try and resolve those tickets.Another key aspect to this role is continuing to develop a trusted bond with key stakeholders on the client's side, providing first class customer service whilst searching for opportunities to reduce repeat tickets, resolve client queries to prevent them escalating into tickets and looking for areas to generate business where change requests are required.Recently started mentoring others outside of my line management role. A role which involves supporting an employee through long term career progression (instead of the typical short to medium term support of a line manager).
