Jonathan works as a engineer specialising in the design, build, maintenance and repair of Electronic, Computer and Broadcast Systems. He is additionally able to undertake repairs to a vast variety of electronic and computer equipment.Following on from a keen interest in Electronics at a young age, Jonathan formally qualified at City and Guilds Level (Electronics) in 1991 before moving on to HND Level in Electronic Engineering in 1994.As part of the HND course, Jonathan was fortunate to be offered a one year placement at Anglia Television in Norwich during 1992. The experience gained during this time was key to defining Broadcast Engineering as his passion.Following on directly from College in 1994, Jonathan worked for a Norwich-based company which specialised in the repair of mobile phones and two way radios to surface mount component level.Next, in 1995, he joined the East Anglian Radio Group as assistant to the Chief Engineer of Radio Broadland in Norwich and SGR FM in Ipswich. Here Jonathan became involved in the design, installation and maintainance of radio studios, electronic and computer equipment.In 1997, at the age of 24, Jonathan was successfully promoted to the position of Chief Engineer for Radio Broadland which was then part of the GWR Radio Group.Jonathan pioneered several unique engineering inventions during this time and remained with GWR/GCap/Global Radio until November 2010 when redundancy was announced. This gave Jonathan the opportunity to follow in his father’s footsteps and start his own business, JB Tech Services.In December 2014, Jonathan was offered a full time position at Anglian Radio as Group Technical Officer based in Norwich managing all technical aspects of five local radio stations across East Anglia.Jonathan specialises in all types of Electronic, Computer/IT and Broadcast Engineering solutions, maintenance and projects.
