Twice nominated for the School of Health Sciences Teaching Excellence Award, Jonathan was a former program head and faculty member of the Department of Basic Health Sciences (BHSC) who was affiliated with the Environmental Public Health, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nuclear Medicine and Nursing programs. Jonathan has been a strong advocate for quality education programming with extensive experience in curriculum/program review, renewal and development in his current role as well as past roles as a department head, and member of various School and Institute committees. He was appointed chair of the School of Health Sciences School Quality Committee in 2009, elected to the Education Council (EDCO) in 2013 and re-elected in 2014. Jonathan served as the Vice-Chair of the EDCO Programming Committee until June 2015 when he vacated his seat to join the School of Academic Studies at BCIT. In Jan 2019, he was appointed Manager, Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Vice President - Academic Office.Over the years Jonathan has also acquired a broad range of experiences in health professional education and research through his activities in various organizations such as his participation in the Burden of Disease study co-sponored by Harvard University's School of Public Health and the World Health Organization. During the H1N1 pandemic in 2009, he was invited by numerous British Columbia media organizations for interviews.
