Being part of a small agile team within the IT department, it allows us to be exposed to a wide variety of day-to-day tasks from end user support to infrastructure provisioning. As part of my role, I problem solve to meet the company's and end user's needs, this means that I need to be flexible and reactive in accordance to the situation presented. I undertake daily system administration tasks within AD and SharePoint as well as helping ensure that all of our Windows systems are standardised and patched up to date in addition to the Linux estate. I assist the IT Manager in dealing with any security incidents that occur as well as, training end users to help maintain our strong cyber-security culture.I have also progressively taken on a larger role in our backend infrastructure design and rollout assisting with Virtualisation, Firewalls and Networking. In addition to assisting management in projects, I have also run my own projects from identifying requirements to implementing and delivering the agreed solution. I also created a Virtual Reality experience on a Cavern onsite from scan data which has been used within the company to showcase the work done onsite to visitors. This was so well received that other entities within the group requested it for their own visitor days as well as at industry conferences.
