I specialize in solving problems and connecting with my target audience using effective, accurate communication. As an Education major I was trained to ask questions to determine a student’s comprehension of a desired learning area, specify behavior to demonstrate proficiency in a desired goal, and design exercises for students to achieve that goal. Whenever approaching an issue of documentation or end user confusion, I employ my undergraduate training to enable me and my audience to reach a shared level of understanding. The most valuable part of my English degree was the refinement of my comprehension of meaning and communication of ideas. The sheer volume of writing required by my degree provided the practice necessary to be an effective writer and editor.Based on my skill set and interests, here are the type of jobs I’m looking for:Hardware/Software Support: In my previous job roles I’ve been expected to embed myself in my position, rapidly assimilate information, and become functional at supporting a wide range of hardware and software with which I’ve had minimal to no previous experience. I always meet and exceed the metrics used to my measure my performance.Technical Writer/Communication/Editing: I enjoy being responsible for transmitting content to an intended audience. I dissect the components necessary to understand and build instructions that guide reader’s comprehension to an intended goal.Trainer: I derive satisfaction from identifying where an individual is struggling to meet their performance goals, communicating to understand their level of comprehension, and devising methods of instruction that help them reach a desired level of behavior.
