I am a construction manager with over a decade of tier one main contractor experience in mixed use residential and health care projects valued up to £120 million. I have substantial experience in managing high value building envelope packages including the largest passive haus project in Europe (Agar Grove project designed by Hawkins Brown architects).My construction knowledge and technical capabilities are founded upon three core building principles: 1. Construction Management Pre-construction duties including co-ordinating the project construction and design programme, CDM documentation and health and safety paper work prior to commencement. Management of PCSA works inclusive of site set up, enabling works and piling.Reporting subcontractor cost, programme and design changes to the senior project and commercial managers including early warning signs. Detailed record keeping to aid in the administration of JCT contract mechanisms for delays, changes, contractor proposals and practical completion. Attendance at client progress meetings to provide detailed programme updates and communicate contractors proposals to the principal designers and external consultants.Extensive subcontractor management of internal and external trade packages. My involvement starts from the subcontractor’s pre order meetings and continues throughout their subcontract including involvement in their final account valuation. I provide input into the commercial teams monthly subcontractor valuations and act as the subcontractors first point of call for instructions, notifications of design changes and programme updates.2. Commercial I collaboratively work with the commercial teams at key stages to ensure best commercial practices are achieved, not just at tender stage, but throughout the construction phase until completion. I effectively analyse the construction programme against the commercial teams procurement tracker to ensure trade packages are procured on time. 3. Design My experience working with tier 1 main contractor design teams, award winning architects and external consultants has provided me the latest knowledge of construction details, building materials and industry statutory requirements and changes. I understand the hierarchy of cost, design and programme implications and how this changes throughout the lifecycle of a project. I am confident in providing input into crucial design decisions to ensure the wider project team gain from my build-ability knowledge.
