In this role I am required to provide leadership and clinical support to all frontline staff with emphasis on those individuals in my team. This includes undertaking clinical audit, performance and development reviews, and ensuring a high level of compliant paperwork. I also undertake shifts as the Bronze officer during which I attend multi-agency incidence with an emphasis on scene management. As well as this I act as an ad hoc liason with receiving hospital departments and deal with any day to day issues that arise. Alongside this role I have undertaken the voluntary role as Community First Responder (CFR) Lead within the Weald, Kent, which aims to facilitate training and support for both CFR's and their sector Team Leaders

In this role I facilitate CPD sessions for colleagues and students to help refine and revise skills often forgotten due to the extent of prehospital clinicians skillsets. This role has extended into producing and publishing condensed documents and aid memoires and have developed my operational leadership style and confidence.

In this role I am required to work as part of a dual crewed ambulance (DCA) as well as a lone responder on a swift response vehicle (SRV). I am often the lead clinician on scene and as such am responsible for completing a thorough patient assessment followed by appropriate interventions in accordance with current trust policies and national guidelines. I then make patient based triage decisions on definitive care, often this involves liaising with other health care professionals and communicating complex information whilst ensuring that the patient is fully involved in decisions surrounding their care. As a practice placement educator (PPEd) I am also responsible for mentoring students and newly qualified staff, during this time I am clinically responsible for any decision or intervention performed by that individual. Similarly to any member of NHS staff I have a responsibility to report vulnerable adults and children to the relevant authorities after ensuring they are in a place of safety where appropriate.

Working alongside a mentor I developed my skills to assess and treat patients in a prehospital operational capacity.
