• Lived in a rural Gambian village as its sole extension worker focusing on projects that build local resilience in agriculture and agroforestry largely using the local language of Mandinka.• Conducted an environmental baseline assessment of the community's needs by surveying more than 60 compounds over 4 days. Presented the findings to the regional directorate. Used the participatory assessment to prioritize and direct my work.• Planned, wrote, and implemented 2 Peace Corps Small Project Assistance (SPA) grants, totaling $13,690.69, alongside counterparts in my village to rebuild 884 meters of fencing around 2 community gardens to support women’s income and food security.• Planned, fundraised for, and implemented a privately funded local market project, totaling $4,700, to co-build a 7-meter by 11-meter marketplace in my village to support women’s income and food security.• Promoted reforestation in my village by out-planting, or distributing for later out-planting, 512 trees, as well as by running 2 workshops for over 90 male youth on farmer-managed natural regeneration (FMNR) and tree nursery activities.• Ran 6 workshops in 3 villages to promote the capacity of women to improve their families’ nutrition using both Moringa oleifera and orange-fleshed sweet potato (OFSP), reaching over 155 women. Distributed OFSP cuttings to each woman. Planted over 1,000 moringa seeds across 2 villages to promote its usage.• Collaborated with another PCV to assist the Kiang West National Park in executing successfully on 2 of their personally defined priorities: building a website and applying for and receiving a $4,600 grant for income generation through tree nursery activities. • Started and co-ran a school green club, hosting 7 meetings to promote gardening and agroforestry best practices, reaching 145 children and youth.

• Worked with State Representative Joan Meschino. • Drafted, filed, and tracked legislative and budgetary priorities. • Debriefed the Representative on state and district issues, ran the Representative's State House office, included supervising interns, and managed the Representative's schedule. • Volunteered on the Progressive Caucus Staff Steering Committee, providing staff-to-staff organization and support. • For the first nine months, handled constituent casework and created communications materials.• Worked with the Representative to manage more than 6 coalitions, facilitating many of those meetings myself.Accomplishments:• Helped organize the successful Save the Ferry campaign to prevent elimination of the MBTA ferry in the fall of 2020. • Successfully assisted in acquiring funding for both a community college campus hunger pilot program and a supportive housing pilot project in the fall of 2021. • Partnered with Greater Boston Legal Services to advocate for changes in how the Department of Unemployment Assistance administered unemployment insurance overpayment waivers, leading to several reforms in late 2021 and early 2022 that positively impacted many thousands of residents in the state experiencing hardship. • Drafted language and successfully advocated for provisions that became part of the climate bill passed in the House and Senate in July 2022. • Shepherded 3 home rule petitions for the Representative's district through the legislative process.

• Conducted research on the capacities for sustainable development, particularly the capacities to adapt to shocks and to transition society to more sustainable pathways, to bridge theory and practice. • Improved qualitative interview skills and gained a fuller understanding of sustainability science research.

• Built digital curricular resources centered on sustainable development, creativity, and social innovation for the Harvard Summer School program, the Biopolis, and the upcoming Lemann Center for Creativity and Entrepreneurship. • Increased skills in course development and lesson planning.

• Educated students on waste management. • Developed projects to further the mission of zero waste at Harvard University. • Inspected trash and recycling rooms in residential dorms.

• Researched diverse topics relating to ecological urbanism, biomimicry, design thinking, effective pedagogies, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals under Dr. Robert Lue. • Wrote roughly 155 pages spread over 25 reports.

• Aided Kestrel Land Trust by using ArcGIS to generate maps representing conservation efforts aligned with the Wildlands & Woodlands vision for the Pioneer Valley by 2060. • As part of the Harvard Forest Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program, learned topics relating to forest ecology, Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) sites, the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) program, research tools and methods, and more.
