Experienced counsel advising sports and consumer finance entities, two different groups with a legal common ground--a highly regulated industry. On the consumer finance compliance and litigation front, Jonathan has a proven track record of defending individual and class action lawsuits under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), regularly advising clients on compliance issues and best practices. Recipient of the Birmingham Business Journal's "40 under 40" award for 2022, Jonathan also has deep experience advising clients in the sports industry, serving as outside general counsel for The World Games 2022 and the 2025 World Police & Fire Games and having a demonstrated history of success negotiating and drafting licensing, production, distribution, rights, and other commercial deals, as well as transactions related to operations, sponsorship, and all facets of large scale sporting events. Jonathan also advises national governing bodies (NGBs) on corporate governance matters and compliance with the Ted Stevens Act, U.S. Center for SafeSport policies, and Anti-Doping.
