* Wrote RESTful API in Python for VM management that inventoried all virtual machines across the enterprise and gave the ability to start/stop/reconfigure the virtual machine* Using Nutanix APIs and vRealize Orchestrator created a workflow/API for self-service restore of virtual desktops.* Wrote RESTful API to front-end BMC Remedy so there is no need for a developer or infrastructure engineer to know the intricacies of Remedy forms; instead, they can concentrate on working with familiar objects such as Incidents and Changes* Wrote RESTful API as a wrapper for VMware vCenter Orchestrator 7.4 so that the self-provisioning UI portal team could call the API to spin up and destory on-demand compute resources* Created a vRealize Orchestrator workflow to create virtual machines on demand saving the company from using expensive products such as CloudBolt* Automated decommissioning of on-demand compute as well as our standard virtual machine environment* Rearchitected our API Gateway infrastructure and API services to use Docker containers and provide better security (running under non-root accounts) and greater resiliency (multiple upstreams)

After joining TD Ameritrade full-time, I continued working with the VMware Engineering team helping establish standards and guidelines for the environment. In addition to creating capacity reporting for our steadily expanding VMware farm, I also was the lead on bringing Dynamic Ops Cloud Automation Center and implementing it in our environment. We integrated our Remedy system with DCAC (which eventually would become vCAC then vRA) so we could drive virtual server provisioning through data-driven forms.

I initially worked with the Windows Server Operations team provisioning servers for our newest datacenter. While in this position, my colleague and I worked together automating pieces of the server provisioning process using VBScript, PowerShell, and C# depending on circumstances. Eventually I started specializing in the VMware Operations space. At the time we had just started using ESX 3.5 and eventually moved from 3.5 -> 4.0 -> 5.0 while in this role.

I began my IT career at Credit Suisse in a Help Desk position after obtaining my MCSE (NT 4.0) certification. After six months I moved on to Desktop Support and then ended my tenure there as part of an Escalations Team acting as a liaison between Engineering and Desktop Support.
