• One of five producers of The Diane Rehm Show, a live, nationally-syndicated, award-winning weekday public radio program distributed by National Public Radio. The Diane Rehm Show offers in depth analysis of politics, public policy, campaigns, science, the arts and more, with a weekly audience of over 2.2 million listeners. • Research, prepare background information, pre-interview and book guests and write scripts to prepare host for hour-long interviews. Some of the guests I worked with included: President Jimmy Carter, Senator John McCain, George Soros, Elizabeth Edwards, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Tim Russert, Jim Lehrer, Art Buchwald, Tom Friedman, Carly Simon, and Alan Alda. • Collaborate with host and fellow producers on daily topic selection and guest bookings; remain up to date on current events and develop new program topics.• Volunteer coordinator: manage more than a dozen volunteers to ensure their work is suitable for program use. Helped to develop their script writing and research skills. Two current producers of The Diane Rehm Show were volunteers who I mentored.• Station relations liaison: Primary producer responsible for making sure needs of affiliate stations are met. Attend annual Public Radio Producer Direction meeting. Successfully completed 2008 P.R.P.D. Program Director workshop. Thorough understanding of audience data analysis systems and their applications.• Initiated The Diane Rehm Show's social media presence. The program now has over 20,000 friends on Facebook and more than 10,000 followers on Twitter.• Liaison to WAMU senior management, underwriting and public affairs departments.• On-air fundraising experience both with Ms. Rehm and alone.
