My greatest strength as a software developer is in pushing myself to master complex concepts and material. From writing interpreters to creating AI based strategy games to giving a thirty minute college talk on the fundamentals of quantum computing, I love to push myself to take on challenges and to find innovative solutions to complex tasks. I'm a very hands-on developer, and in order to feel like I really understand a concept I love to jump right in and start implementing the ideas I'm working with. Because of this, I have a great deal of experience completing complex software projects, despite the fact that I'm really just starting my career as a professional software developer. I love to think "How can I make this better?" Whether it's a piece of code or a user's experience, I pay attention to details and I care about creating the best products possible. A stereotype of software developers is that they are socially awkward computer nerds, I don't have that problem. While I am a bit of a nerd who took quite a few challenging courses in college, I also took a few acting and writing classes. I took those classes because I love to connect with people. One of the benefits of taking those classes is that they gave me a lot of experience clearly communicating complex ideas. I believe this experience will be very beneficial when interfacing non-technical co-workers as well as with the customers who use the software we create. In all, I believe I have a great deal to offer, and if given the opportunity, I look forward to contributing to the development of your product and company, while growing as a software engineer and teammate.
