I have been working in the Petroleum/Chemical industries since 2002. I began working as a “CAD/ Report Specialist”. Shortly after, I was placed on an NDE crew that provided several services to many refineries in the Northeast region including API 653 inspections, boiler UT survey, NDE (MT, PT, & VT) repairs and alterations, AUT (Automated Ultrasonic’s) corrosion mapping and monitoring tanks and process equipment and Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM) weld inspections. Once I acquired my API 653 certification in 2007 I was stationed as the full time Tank Inspection Supervisor at a Refinery in Hawaii. One of my primary functions was to create an inspection plan for every tank using their RBMI program increasing the accuracy of the RBI. It was also my responsibility to ensure that all required inspections were performed. My responsibilities also included to ensuring QAQC for all construction, repair, and alterations made to tanks or piping within the tank farm and throughout the units. In January 2009 I was recruited to perform API 653, 570 and 510 inspections throughout the United States and the Middle East region. A key project that was my main focus from 2009 to 2011 was an inspection and repair project in the middle east. My responsibilities for the project included supervising and performing all inspection and repair work associated with the POL system. I received the API-510 and National Board inspection certification allowing my company to have a National Board inspection and repair commission. In July 2012 I was offered a position at a Refinery in the New Jersey as the Chief Inspector. I perform or supervise the performance of all of the refineries inspections. I supervise all major equipment repairs and capital projects to ensure conformance with current codes and standards. I received the NJ Certificate of Competency (COC) for boiler and pressure vessel inspectors and became the refineries owner/user pressure vessel inspector. I have since moved on to become Westech inspections quality program manager. Having obtained NB-369 accreditation for Westech Inspection, Inc. and obtaining National Board Commission as well as a certificate of competency from Virginia, and soon Delaware and South Carolina.
