I am a graduate student researcher investigating various low cost methods to construct functioning solar cells under the guidance of Dr. Michael Heben. I have helped design and maintain the laser scribing system that I currently use for my research. My research focuses on laser scribing of various materials such as cadmium telluride, amorphous silicon, cadmium sulfide, and single wall carbon nanotubes. I have also researched and developed the ability to perform non-destructive laser processes that are used in material characterization. Laser beam induced current and voltage measurements as well as carbon nanotube processing are a few of the techniques I have researched and expanded upon. As the graduate student in charge of these projects, I am responsible for experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, and presenting the information to the group leader.Through designing of these experiments, I have been exposed to various other film deposition techniques and material characterization techniques as well. I have performed film depositions through sputtering, spin coating, evaporation, and ultrasonic spraying. I have then tested the material properties of these films using spectrophotometry, SEM, FTIR, quantum efficiency, solar simulation, x-ray diffraction, and profilometry.

I am a member of Second Sole's professional racing team. This team travels to various professional races around Northwestern Ohio and bordering states. I have competed in four full marathons, Akron, Columbus, Toledo, and Boston placing 50th overall with a time of 2:26:45, and was first Ohioan in attendance.I have also competed in and won various other 10k and 5k races across the state of Ohio and Indiana.
