Primary focus as Shift Supervisor is ensuring critical life safety of crew of chemical operators as they perform procedures within the the plant every job, every shift, every day.Other responsibilities include: - Ensures safe plant operation- Leads shift meetings at turnover to ensure any safety concerns are brought up and addressed, work plan is understood, and jobs can be executed safely and with quality, while maintaining safe operation of the plant- Collaborates with senior leaders, plant manager and superintendents across many departments on projects ranging from predictive maintenance to reactive maintenance/break-fix- Oversees plant productivity working closely with maintenance work management to reduce downtime- Performs regular audits of safe work permits, line break permits, hot work permits, confined space permits, job safety analysis- Orders raw materials for the plant such as HCL, sulfuric acid, nitric acid- Supervisor administrative duties including labor planning, budget management, and workforce reporting- Oversees training needs of shift members ensuring skills and knowledge are in place for safe work and safe operation of the plant- Regularly discusses career development paths with crew members including training needs, cross-training interests, general coaching and support- Ensures that productivity standards are met or exceeded per plant key performance indicators without sacrificing safety
